Once a year, the Black Rock Desert in Nevada is being transformed into one of the most bizarre festivals in the world: The Burning Man. This year’s edition has to provide a modified Boeing 747 as a special highlight. Under the title “Project 747”, the non-profit organization Big Imagination turned the aircraft into the largest vehicle ever.
The work on the biggest mobile artwork of all times lasted seven years and the entire project was financed by crowdfunding with almost 85,000 Euros being collected. On the Burning Man will be lectures, concerts and parties on board of the Boeing. In addition, a light installation leaves illuminates the plane and the desert landscape at night.
The festival runs until 5 September and this year’s motto is “Da Vinci’s Workshop“.
